SOL Baltics joined President Kaljulaid’s Foundation initiative to combat against domestic abuse

SOL Baltics has taken a clear stance against domestic abuse by joining the joint project Vägivallavabaks (Employers Against Domestic Abuse), initiated by President Kersti Kaljulaid’s Foundation and major corporations. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of domestic abuse and provide employers with the knowledge to support their employees and identify both those in need of help and perpetrators of abuse.
“Domestic abuse can affect any of us – regardless of income level, location, education, or gender. Unfortunately, individuals with lower incomes often have even fewer opportunities to quickly access professional help. A good leader notices changes in the behavior and emotional state of their team members. If the leader also has the knowledge and skills to take the next steps, it can be of great help to the employee,” said Rinel Pius, CEO at SOL Baltics.
SOL Baltics has over 2,200 employees, and a significant portion of their motivation to work comes from the humane behavior, empathy, and appreciation for the cleaning profession shown by mid-level managers. “The workplace may be the only safe space for someone suffering from domestic abuse,” Pius added.
The aim of the initiative is to educate employers and managers on how to recognize signs of abuse and offer support. “An employer has more power and influence than an individual, and they hold a social responsibility toward their employees. Our 2,200 employees have families, including children, and by raising awareness about violence and talking about it, we can impact over 5,000 lives,” emphasized Pius.
We invite others to join the cause
SOL Baltics signed a three-year collaboration agreement as a beacon member with President Kaljulaid’s Foundation. Other companies, including Eesti Energia, Betsson Group, and Ensto Estonia, have also joined the initiative. Together, they aim to create a safer and healthier society where victims receive the necessary support and are encouraged to seek help.
SOL Baltics calls on all companies to join the initiative and contribute to creating a better and more caring work environment by ensuring the well-being and safety of their employees.
